Spoilers ahead.

Wes Ball, the same director of The Maze Runner series, leads the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, set 300 years after the events of the first trilogy in the franchise. It portrays the complete domination of Earth by the ape species, now the planet’s primary inhabitants.

The humans who survived the war that established their dominance are now compelled to live on the periphery of society, stay feral, and are frequently treated like pets by their new ape masters.

Ape king Ceaser, last seen in 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes, appears to have carved out an oasis in this new planet. Although Ceaser did not live to witness the ape species’ global conquest, his final dream of numerous ape clans coexisting as one has mainly come true.

But soon after Proximus Ceaser, a new despotic leader, begins enslaving his fellow apes in the hopes of finding an antiquated piece of human technology that will solidify his rule, intra-ape strife breaks out once more.

Fortunately, Noa, a young ape with the ability to alter the course of events, is the last shred of hope.

This “young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike,” according to the official synopsis of the movie.

Ball speculates that this might be the beginning of an entirely new chapter in the Apes saga. He told Empire, “We thought about this as a trilogy from the beginning.”

“We had these really big ideas about where it could end up and how it could work into the history of these films.” Thus, I’m currently discussing the next tale with [the studio].

In Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, who plays the lead role?

The initial trailer for the movie and all the official information released before its premiere indicate that this will be the first Apes movie without an appearance by Andy Serkis’ Caesar.

Rather, Owen Teague, an actor in IT, will take the lead in the action as Noa, a young chimpanzee born a generation after Caesar’s rule. Nevertheless, even if it’s still rumored, we wouldn’t be shocked if Serkis appeared in a flashback as Caesar.

Speaking to Empire, Teague revealed that Noa “had no idea” who the great ape was or what he accomplished for their species, and that Caesar’s legacy has been all but forgotten in this new ape world.

Kevin Durand, star of Lost, will appear alongside Teague as the wicked Proximus Maximus, a character who could know more about Caesar and his endeavors than he is revealing.

“Durand told Empire that Proximus adopted the name Caesar because it represented the highest position in ape society, and Caesar embodies an almost religious significance,” It was a declaration of intent, made by any means necessary, to ensure that apes will never cease evolving.

Thus, you’re witnessing the impact and development of Caesar’s legacy. Additionally, just like in every scrap of human history, there is always some kind of despot who appears and manipulates others into believing them.

Together with Freya Allan from The Witcher, who plays a young feral named Mae, Peter Macon will also play Noa’s sage orangutan guide, Raka.

There will also be appearances by William H. Macy, Neil Sandilands, Lydia Peckham, Eka Darville, Sara Wiseman, Ras-Samuel Weld A’abzgi, and Dichen Lachman; however, their roles are still unknown.
